14th November 2005. MASSIVE GROUP SIGN UP TO FRESHNET
-
Massive, the privately owned pub and pub-restaurant group, has signed a three year contract with Freshnet, an e-procurement system for the catering and hospitality industry.
The amount of paperwork involved with running Massive's 35 food outlets is expected to reduce by a staggering 90% per annum as a result of the Freshnet system, enabling the company to acquire further premises without taking on extra staff: "The sheer volume of paper invoices per outlet was a significant barrier to growth", commented Mark Bispham, Massive's Financial Controller.
The whole process from initial meeting through to the system actually going live, took place within a nine month period. "We have been delighted with the responsiveness of Freshnet, their flexibility and the dedicated level of support", said Mark.
The Freshnet system comprises a group of over 300 carefully selected suppliers up and down the country. A competitive price for each product is agreed and fixed on a regular basis, which allows the customer to see how much goods are going to cost at the time of ordering. A comprehensive record of each transaction is stored on the system, which minimizes errors, reduces paperwork, improves efficiency, and provides data, which can be analysed for spend patterns etc.
The system also benefits the supplier. L Jalley, based in London's Covent Garden, has seen its business grow by some 12-15% over a two year period. Managing Director, Peter Pini, is a big fan of the Freshnet system:"It is easy to use, efficient, keeps errors to a minimum, reduces paperwork and man hours to process orders, and the history for each transaction is electronically logged making it a clear and transparent system."
